On the 5th of Children’s Day, a stamp rally was held in Akita City where parents and children could experience various sports competitions, and the participants worked up a good sweat.

This event is planned every year by the foundation that manages the prefecture’s sports facilities to increase opportunities for people to experience various sports.

Various sports such as “T-ball,” a game similar to baseball in which you hit the ball while it is placed, and martial arts are available at the sports plaza and the Prefectural Budokan, where you can get stamps for each experience.

In the area where you can experience “T-ball,” children swing their bats under the blue sky as hard as they can to send the ball flying far, while their parents pick up the ball and work up a sweat with them.

In addition, at the Prefectural Budokan, children can experience six martial arts and martial arts, including archery and kendo. After receiving a lecture from their instructors on how to stand and hold their stance, the children can actually shoot an arrow at a target. I used to hit it with a bamboo sword.

A 6th grade elementary school girl who participated said, “Some of the competitions were difficult because I wasn’t familiar with them, but I’m glad I was able to experience a lot of things.”
