The Minister of Public Administration, Renato Brunetta, returned to talk about the smart working of public employees for the first time in the new institutional role during an online intervention organized by Pwc Italia. And he stressed that the decisive criterion must be that of efficiency. “Those who preceded me in this ministry have established usage quotas for smart working in the public administration but it is the worst that can be done because the use of smart working must be seen on the basis of efficiency and productivity for my customers, it is meaningless to give a percentage ”.
The turnover
But efficiency is also linked to the generational turnover of personnel: “To restore a minimum of serious, qualitative and quantitative turnover” in the public administration, Brunetta added, “we need at least 150,000 young people hired per year”, reiterating the need for change the rules of recruitment and public competitions.
