Thiruvananthapuram: ONV, the beloved poet of Malayalam. On the occasion of Kurup’s 91st birthday, the ONV Cultural Academy will host a Jayanti celebration and a literary awards ceremony at the University Senate Hall at 6 p.m. Minister Saji Cherian will present the ONV Literary Award to T. Padmanabhan. The Minister will also inaugurate the Jayanti celebrations. There will be a dance and song evening featuring ONV songs.

The function will start with the poetry recital by Aparna Rajeev, daughter of son Rajeev ONV. Rajeev and Aparna will then join the ONV song evening led by Unni Menon. Ganesh Sundaram and Rajalakshmi will also be in attendance. The choreography is by Lakshya’s Sarathi Ashwati Nair. Amrita Jayakrishnan, daughter and dancer of ONV’s daughter Dr. Mayadevi Kurup, will step into the choreography with songs written by her grandfather.
