One of the most anticipated competitions for literature lovers has begun. The Ministry of Culture and the National Organizing Commission of the Floral Games of El Salvador invited this morning to participate in the contests that include the genres of poetry, children’s poetry, stories, theater and essays.
It was reported that the contests are open, unique and national in nature. The winners will receive a monetary prize equivalent to eight minimum wages and a diploma. The reception of works opened today and will close on September 30 of this year.
Those interested in participating can leave their works at the House of Culture, located in the following departmental capitals:
Sonsonate (poetry), Ahuachapán (story), Santa Ana (children’s poetry), Santa Tecla (story), San Miguel (theater), La Paz (poetry) and San Salvador (essay). Those interested can request more information by calling 2592-5204 or by email:[email protected]
Salvadorans over 18 years of age can participate with completely unpublished and non-plagiarized works.
The lengths required for poetry and children’s poetry are 300 to 1,000 verses, for stories between 25 and 50 pages are requested, for theater the minimum length must be 40 pages and the literary essay must be a minimum of 20 pages and a maximum of 100.
The organizers will not accept works sent by email.
