ORF launches Austria-wide vaccination lottery for adults

by time news

The ORF is starting an vaccination lottery to increase the poor corona vaccination rate in Austria. According to a broadcast, persons aged 18 and over living in Austria who were or will be vaccinated against Covid-19 between October 1 and December 20, 2021 are eligible to participate. It does not matter whether it is a first, second or third stitch. Almost 1,000 material prizes will be raffled – for example a prefabricated single-family house and an electric car.

Every trick counts

The starting shot for the “Austria Vaccination Lottery – Who Vaccines Wins” gave ORF General Director Alexander Wrabetz on Monday as part of a special edition of “Stöckl live”. Registrations are now only possible at https://werimpftgewinnt.orf.at. Name, address, telephone number and date of birth must be given, but not proof of vaccination. This is only checked in the event that the prizes made available by Austrian companies are won. The winners will be announced on December 24th as part of the program “Licht ins Dunkel” on ORF 2. Until then, the public media company will call for participation in vaccinations and the lottery with its programs on TV, radio and online.

“Millions of people in Austria trust the work of ORF journalists every day, who do their best 24 hours a day in all media to inform Austrians based on scientific findings. But clarification and information are sometimes not enough to anchor the indispensable contribution of vaccination to fighting pandemics for as many people as possible, “Wrabetz was quoted as saying. For this reason, the vaccination lottery should create additional motivation for those willing to vaccinate. “But it is also about a big thank you to everyone who has already been vaccinated or boosted,” said the ORF boss.
