Pordenone Library to Host Series of Performances Promoting Cultural Understanding This Holiday Season
A diverse lineup of storytelling, puppetry, and readings will grace the “Teresina Degan” Room of the Civic Library of Pordenone this December, offering free cultural experiences for audiences of all ages.
The series, organized by Orthotheatro, kicks off on Saturday, December 27th, at 5 p.m. with “Roundabout around the world,” a performance featuring storyteller Fabio Scaramucci and original music by Giorgio Rizzi. The show promises to transport audiences through “stories, songs and stories from the world,” exploring themes of mutual knowledge and peace.
“Men need ‘stories’ and stories are around the world,” a representative for Orthotheatro stated, emphasizing the basic human connection to narrative. “Stories are told where there are people, because they arise from people; and this is precisely why they leave traces of emotions, traces of affections and feelings.”
“Girotondo around the world” aims to foster understanding by showcasing tales from diverse cultures, including Albania, Morocco, and Mongolia. The performance is designed to be accessible to children aged five and up.
the following Monday, December 29th, at 5 p.m., Orthotheatro will present a puppet show, “Meneghino to the rescue,” also in the “Teresina Degan” Room. This adaptation of Alessandro Manzoni’s “The Betrothed” follows Renzo and Lucia as they seek help from the cunning Meneghino to overcome obstacles to their marriage. The show is described as “surprising,” “full of ideas,” and “fun” for all ages.
The series concludes on Tuesday, December 30th, at 5 p.m. with “Readings under the tree,” featuring Christmas readings by Lucia Roman. This event offers a cozy and festive way to celebrate the season.
All events are free to attend. For more details, contact Orthotheatro at 320 05 300 07 (also available via WhatsApp) or via email at [email protected]. Further details can be found on the Orthotheatro website: www.ortoteatro.it.
