The announcement was made at the end of a meeting held tonight between the company’s chairman Dan Proper and the company’s CEO Avi Ben Assayag, and Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman, in which the reasons that led the company to announce the price increase were presented.

“We welcome the decision of the companies that responded to our request and chose not to increase, and even reduce, the prices of their products and thus demonstrated solidarity in the complex period that befalls us these days,” said Lieberman. “We will examine the activities of the other companies by all means at our disposal, and as evidence this morning I turned to the Prices Committee, which will examine as quickly as possible the companies’ use of excess market power for the purpose of seizing excess profits at the public expense.”
