Oklahoma Gymnastics Hosts Tri-Meet with Ohio State and Air Force, Continuing Legacy of Excellence

The tri-meet begins with introductions at 5:45 p.m. CT, followed by the first routine at 6 p.m. CT, with doors opening at 4:45 p.m. CT. Best of all for fans, admission to the event is free.
A Weekend of Competition and Celebration
Saturday’s meet is designated as Cleveland & Alumni Night,promising a vibrant atmosphere for attendees. A pre-meet petting zoo and an OU t-shirt giveaway will add to the festive spirit. The annual Cleveland Night tradition honors students and families from Norman’s Cleveland Elementary school, fostering a connection between the team and the local community.
adding to the celebratory atmosphere, the 2016 national championship team will be recognized, alongside 2026 CGA Hall of Fame electee jake Dalton and other OU alumni. Fans arriving early can take advantage of a happy hour promotion from 4:45-6:00 p.m., featuring $2 beer, soda, and popcorn. Entertainment will continue throughout the meet with a t-shirt toss, “socks for sticks,” and an ice cream giveaway for the loudest fan. A youth gymnastics exhibition will also be held. Notably, admission to all Oklahoma men’s gymnastics home meets throughout the 2026 season remains free.

Following Saturday’s competition, the Oklahoma team will take a break from the team schedule before participating in the USA Gymnastics Winter Cup, scheduled for February 21-22 in Louisville, Kentucky. Several Sooners, including Fuzzy Benas, Sasha Bogonosiuk, and Nathan Roman, along with alumnus Yul Moldauer and future Sooner Hunter Simpson, are slated to compete. Signee Dante reive, despite qualifying, is not expected to participate.

Redshirt senior Fuzzy Benas was a standout performer, claiming titles on parallel bars (13.500) and horizontal bar (14.050). Other event winners included Ballon on floor exercise (13.700), Yockers on pommel horse (14.350), frentheway on still rings (13.350), and Flores on vault (14.250). Junior Colin Flores secured a total of 77.000 in the all-around competition.

head coach Mark Williams is in his 27th season leading the Sooners, having amassed an impressive record of 617 victories (618-61-1 [.909]), nine national championships, and 20 MPSF conference titles. Oklahoma’s storied history includes 12 national championships – tied with Penn State for the most in NCAA history – and a remarkable run of success, finishing first or second in 19 of the last 23 NCAA Championships.
