New twist in the Amélie Oudéa-Castéra affair. The Minister of National Education will visit the Littré public school on Tuesday, in the 6th arrondissement of Paris. Since Friday, she has been at the heart of a controversy after removing her son from this public establishment to enroll him in the private sector.

The visit will take place “at the end of the morning”, “to meet the teachers and the management team of the establishment, and to discuss with them”, it was specified, confirming information from BFMTV.

She “regrets” having “could have hurt certain teachers”

Since Friday, having barely settled into her new role, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra has been forced to justify the registration of her three sons at the Stanislas school, a prestigious private establishment in the beautiful districts of the capital. A choice motivated by “lots of hours not seriously replaced” in the public, she explained on Friday during her first trip. Comments experienced as a provocation by the unions, to the point that Amélie Oudéa-Castéra immediately beat her chest, saying she “regretted” having “could have hurt certain teachers”.

But the second salvo did not take long: Sunday evening, the newspaper Libération undermined the minister’s defense, contradicted by a former teacher. This denied the absence of teachers cited by Ms. Oudéa-Castéra for having sent her eldest son to the private sector after a few months in a small nursery section in a public school in the 6th arrondissement of Paris.

This teacher, now retired, indicated that the parents wanted their son to skip a grade, a wish to which this public nursery school, named Littré, had opposed.

During a trip to the Olympic village of Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis) Monday morning, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, who is also Minister of Sports and the Olympic Games, declared that she did not want to “go any further on the ground of personal life and private life. “There are attacks to which I tried to respond as sincerely as possible. We must close this chapter of personal attacks and personal life,” she said.
