Police Arrest Over a Thousand Suspects in Nationwide Round-Up Operation
The Police Media Unit has reported that more than a thousand people have been arrested during the nationwide resurgence of the special round-up operation.
1,422 suspects have been arrested in 24 hours in the tactical search operation which resumed yesterday (27) after a three-day gap. According to the Police Media Unit, 35 of the arrested suspects have been remanded in custody pending further investigations.
Investigations have also begun against the 3 suspects who were arrested on suspicion of possessing illegal assets. Additionally, 37 drug addicts have been sent to rehabilitation centers.
It has been mentioned that 73 suspects who were on the list of suspects registered in the Anti-Narcotics Unit of the Police and the Special Task Force have been arrested during this operation. 447 grams of heroin, 827 grams of ice drug, 5 kg of ganja, and 3,574 drug pills were seized from them.
In this special operation which started on the 17th, the police media department informed that about 13,800 searches were conducted from the 17th to the 23rd and many people were arrested. They have informed that the search operations will continue.
