New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in Munich to attend the G7 summit in Germany, addressed a gathering of Indians there yesterday. He said, “All the villages in India have become without latrines and without electricity.” Senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram responded on Twitter yesterday, saying, “While Prime Minister Modi is saying that all villages have been provided with electricity, there are reports that BJP’s presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu has been given electricity on a wartime basis. This is not the only village without electricity. It is not a shame to admit that electricity is not yet available in many remote parts and villages of India. Prime Minister Modi should have acknowledged the achievements of previous governments up to 2014. The present government is continuing the work of the previous governments.
