Karachi: The Pakistan-West Indies ODI series (Pakistan vs West Indies ODI Series) has been postponed to July following the confirmation of Kovid (19) disease in the players. Kovid has so far confirmed nine players, including five from the West Indies squad. Following the T20 series, the ODI series was extended to July.

Kovid confirmed Wednesday’s test of West Indies’ Shai Hope, Akeal Hosein and all-rounder Justin Greaves. Kovid also confirmed to Sheldon Cottrell, Roston Chase and Kyle Mayers during a subsequent inspection in Pakistan.

The two cricket boards said in a joint statement that the final match of the T20 series was canceled without cancellation as the result was negative when the remaining 15 players and six support staff of the West Indies team were subjected to antigen testing this morning.

However, both boards said the ODI series would be postponed to the first week of July due to player safety concerns and the unavailability of players on the Windies team. The ODI series is also part of the World Super League to qualify for the ODI World Cup.

Test results All negative players and support staff will return home today. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has said that Kovid’s confirmed players and support staff have been isolated in Karachi and will be allowed to return home for the Christmas celebrations. Meanwhile, a PCR test on Wednesday confirmed that none of the Pakistani players were infected with Kovid. Pakistan won the last match of the T20 series today and swept the T20 series.
