Islamabad: Pakistan Defense Minister Khwaja Asif said that the country is bankrupt and everyone including institutions, officials and politicians are responsible for it. The defense minister’s remarks came amid the collapse of the country’s economy due to decades of inflation. People in Pakistan have to pay 250 rupees for a liter of milk and 780 rupees for a kg of chicken in Pakistan. Also foreign exchange reserves have dwindled sharply due to constant loan repayments.

‘You must have heard that Pakistan is going bankrupt. It has happened. We live in a bankrupt country.’ – Khwaja Asif said while participating in the event at Sial Kot.

Standing on one’s own feet is essential to becoming a stable country. The solution to our problem lies within the country. The International Monetary Fund cannot do anything about Pakistan’s problems. Khawaja accused that no one followed the law and constitution in Pakistan and that was the reason for the problems. Asif alleged that Pakistan’s debt has risen by 23 percent in a year and that the country is begging the IMF for a loan for the 23rd time in 75 years.
