It has been almost 50 days of genocide in Gaza and a leap in ethnic cleansing in the West Bank, Palestinian territories militarily occupied by Israel in 1967.

While talks are underway for a “humanitarian truce” in the killing, not a total ceasefire, blood continues to be shed and the historic international complicity that supports the attempt at a Zionist “final solution” is laid bare: the new phase of the continuing Nakba (catastrophe, whose cornerstone is the formation of the racist State of Israel, more than 75 years ago).

Despite the pain, Palestine resists and does not bow down, at the same time that international solidarity grows and the Zionist political defeat deepens.

Gaza: a ghetto victim of the Zionist “final solution”

In the Gaza ghetto, where 2.4 million Palestinians have lived under a criminal Israeli siege for 15 years, more than 13,000 people have been murdered, most of whom were children and women. Indiscriminate aerial bombardment is combined with fire from tanks and soldiers on the ground.

State-of-the-art chemical weapons, guaranteed by billions of dollars from US imperialism, continue to be dropped on Palestinian bodies. Of the 2.4 million Palestinian inhabitants, 1.5 million were expelled from the north to the south of Gaza, many of them killed by Israel along the way. The siege deepened with a total cut of water, electricity, fuel and communications.

Palestinians are between dying of hunger, thirst, without medical care (since hospitals have been destroyed and cannot function) and, now, also of cold, with winter approaching, or being the next to be destroyed by bombs. Israeli assassins.

Questions and answers about Israel and Palestine

televised massacre

Palestinian journalists capture scenes of Zionist barbarism, while losing families, friends, animals, homes, everything. Through tears, they begin the coverage: “I’m still alive,” “I’m still alive”; More than 60 of them have already fallen, along with hundreds of doctors, artists, etc. There is no protection or safe place in the midst of genocide.

Their cameras and words, full of indignation and feeling of abandonment by the world, are, at the same time, a cry for help and resistance. “Not to forget: Free Palestine!” says one of them. They also reveal that the Palestinians’ quest to live with dignity amid the genocide in Gaza is also an act of resistance.

Palestinians cut their hair, bake bread, invent and reinvent ways to survive; the children play with their cats (and save them), while death stalks. Meanwhile, the armed resistance heroically confronts Israel, the world’s fourth largest war power and military enclave of imperialism.

Genocidal violence and intensification of apartheid

In the West Bank, around 300 Palestinians have been murdered in just these almost 50 days, including dozens of children. In recent weeks, the Balatah refugee camps in Nablus, and Jenin have been bombed, adding to the tragic list of dozens of people martyred by the Zionist occupation forces.

Attacks and pogroms (violent and deliberate persecution of an ethnic or religious group) carried out by Zionist settlers are increasing. The number of Palestinian political prisoners is increasing alarmingly. There is information that now there are between eight and ten thousand; Until the beginning of October there were 5,200. Israel has also increased barbaric torture and disappeared prisoners. This is the case of the Brazilian-Palestinian citizen Islam Hamed, missing for about 40 days.

On the other hand, the 1.9 million Palestinians living in the areas occupied in 1948 – the so-called Arab-Israeli citizens – are subject to a total dictatorship, in addition to the 65 racist laws that are part of their reality.

If they try to protest against the genocide, or even post something online, an Israeli soldier immediately knocks on their door and stops them. Zionist attacks against them have increased, along with the advance in discrimination, fueled by propaganda for genocide and ethnic cleansing.

There are 13 million Palestinians in the world, half in refuge/diaspora, the other half under colonization and apartheid. For all, Gaza bleeds but resists. Thanks to them, the community in the diaspora continues in the streets, denouncing and demanding an end to international complicity.

We are all Palestinians International solidarity

The cry in the streets, from north to south of Brazil, echoes gigantic demonstrations around the world, calling for the end of genocide, apartheid, colonization and international complicity.

Although in Latin America the protests are smaller than those observed in many other parts of the world, São Paulo managed to take 12,000 people to the streets on November 4 and is preparing another massive public event on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People , on November 29.

According to the Acled Project, which analyzes information on armed conflicts, as of November 7 there had been 3,700 protests around the world against the genocide in Gaza and the increase in ethnic cleansing throughout occupied Palestine. International solidarity definitely surpasses the pro-Israel demonstrations, which numbered 520.

Outside the Middle East and North Africa, the marches in the United States, which include thousands of anti-Zionist Jews, stand out in terms of international solidarity with the Palestinian people. In the heart of imperialism, also according to the Acled Project, during the first month of the massacre promoted by Israel there were 600 protests.

In Europe, in addition to the gigantic demonstrations in London, which brought together a million people, attention is drawn to the holding of 170 pro-Palestine protests in Germany, where criminalization is quite pronounced.

Break relations with Israel

Amid Israeli crimes against humanity, governments have recalled their ambassadors or severed relations with Israel, including Ireland, Bolivia, Belize, South Africa, Turkey, Chad, Colombia, Chile and Jordan.

Here, in Brazil, the demand is that Lula also take this step and immediately break economic, military and diplomatic relations with the genocidal State of Israel.

Unfortunately, the country is not an exception to the rule: Brazilian complicity with Zionist colonization is historic. It comes from the vote in favor of the recommendation for the partition of Palestine, in the General Assembly of the United Nations, on November 29, 1947, chaired by the Brazilian diplomat Osvaldo Aranha: a green light for the Zionist militias to carry out his ethnic cleansing plans that culminated in the Nakba of 1948.

Agreements with Zionists sponsor the genocide of poor, black and indigenous people

Brazil is the fifth largest importer of Zionist military technology, a position reached during Lula’s first governments, when the country played a determining role in the signing of the Mercosur-Israel Free Trade Agreement.

The genocidal Bolsonaro and his intolerable Zionist ideological propaganda were the icing on the bitter cake. In the midst of the genocide in Gaza, three Draft Legislative Decrees (PDL), signed by Bolsonaro with Israel, were shamefully approved in the Chamber of Deputies. It is urgent to prevent them from advancing in the Senate and, also, to strengthen the call for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Israel, in line with the international solidarity campaign that helped end apartheid in South Africa in the 1990s. .

In the same direction, it is also necessary to denounce that state governments continue to arm their police to promote the genocide of the poor and blacks, as well as indigenous extermination, with the same weapons that kill Palestinians. Likewise, it is necessary to denounce and cease all forms of complicity between institutions, companies and universities.

Criminalization, false propaganda and racism

For this, a strong offensive is also necessary to inform and denounce the lies of Zionism, reproduced in the war propaganda against the Palestinian people by the mass media.

This war propaganda serves to justify and fuel genocide and ethnic cleansing, instrumentalizing criminalization, repression, censorship, persecution, racism, xenophobia and Islamophobia, also in Brazil.

Contributing to criminalization, the mayor of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes, signed with the Brazilian Israelite Confederation (Conib), on November 14, a commitment of the city to the new definition proposed by the International Alliance for the Remembrance of the Holocaust ( IHRA), which equates anti-Semitism with anti-Zionism.

This is absolutely false, since anti-Semitism is discrimination against Jews and anti-Zionism is criticism of the Zionist colonial project and the State of Israel. Anti-Zionist Jews, who are also increasing in Brazil, are already denouncing this false association. They join those who raise their voices: “Not in our name, never is never again, for everyone!”

This attack must be stopped to silence the voices that insist on being on the right side of History and to end the shameful complicity with genocide, ethnic cleansing and the continued Nakba.
