Athens (Greece) ∙ A tourist dies after being hit by a helicopter. The British national died while on holiday in Greece. A 21-year-old tourist, who had landed in a helicopter at a private airport, was walking out when he was struck. Britain-based ‘Metro’ reported that the young man died on the spot.
The accident took place on July 25 at 6.20 pm. In connection with this, the pilot of the helicopter that caused the accident and two employees of the airport were taken into custody by the police. An investigation into the accident is underway.
It is reported that the accident occurred when the young man arrived at the airport along with three tourists and was walking out of there. The rear fan was working as the helicopter did not turn off. When he was walking behind without realizing this, the young man’s body was hit by the tail of the stake.
The tourists who had returned from Mykonos were preparing to return to Athens and then to Britain. The accident happened during this. The circumstances in which the tourists may have left before the helicopter was turned off are also being investigated. Three people, including the pilot, were arrested as they were found to have failed in the preliminary inspection.
