Bahnrad: Rigling holt Bronze
Flurina Rigling won bronze in the 500 meter time trial at the World Track Cycling Championships in Rio de Janeiro. Only the Brazilian Sabrina Custodia Da Silva and the Australian world champion Amanda Reid were faster. The Zurich para-athlete was particularly happy about the bronze medal – her second medal after silver in the individual pursuit: “Sprinting is not my greatest strength, so I’m proud of it and I’m happy to take this medal with me.”

Track bike: Good starting point for Matile-Dörig in the Omnium
Franziska Matile-Dörig was also able to record her first success in Rio. With second place in the 200 meter flying start, the Innerrhoden woman put herself in a good starting position for the overall omnium ranking. In para-cycling, the points from all track disciplines are added together.
