A fire erupted this Monday afternoon on rue du Simplon, in Paris’s 18th arrondissement. Approximately forty firefighters responded to the blaze,which broke out in a ground-floor apartment.
Four adults were transported to a hospital for smoke inhalation following the apartment fire, authorities reported. Fortunately, none of the individuals sustained injuries considered life-threatening.
An investigation has been launched by the 18th arrondissement police station, focusing on the charge of destruction of property by dangerous means. One person is currently in custody as investigators explore the possibility of arson, though the exact cause of the fire remains under determination.
