Paris Saint-Germain continue to ‘target’ Barcelona stars for reinforcements.
The Paris team recently attempted the big move to replace Kylian Mbappe, following the tactic they used in the summer of 2017 when they paid Barcelona Neymar’s €222m release clause to take him to the Paris.
As the Madrid sports newspaper “Marca” had revealed at the beginning of last month, the French champion wanted to do the same with 17-year-old Lamin Yamal, the new great talent of Barcelona, and had offered 200 million euros to take him to the French capital!
This was one of the reasons why Jorge Mendes, Yamal’s agent, traveled to Barcelona to meet with the president of the Catalans, Joan Laporta, but he replied in the negative and the “Yamal” case was closed.
Now according to the (valid) French sports newspaper ‘L’ Equipe’, Paris are changing their ‘target’ and are coming back to sign Gavi, preparing a €150m offer to get his rights.
The international midfielder of Barcelona has been a “target” of the French champions since last summer and Luis Enrique, who when he was a federal coach of the “Rojas” gave him the opportunity to make his debut in the Spanish national team, at the age of 17, in is first on his transfer list.
Barcelona do not want to let him go, but the club’s financial situation complicates the situation and it remains unclear if the player would be open to leaving the Catalan club. Gavi’s contract at Barcelona runs until 2026 and has a €1 billion(!) release clause, but Paris reckon they can take advantage of the Spanish club’s financial woes and finally land the young star in the summer.
