After Siddaramaiah announced that he will contest in Kolar, the politics of Kolar district has heated up. For him, the enemies in his own party are more of a threat than the opposition parties.

In Kolar, Varthur Prakash, who belongs to the Gurubar community, is likely to contest on behalf of the BJP, so it would not be right for Siddaramaiah from the same community to contest.

The Gurubar Sangh advised that the votes would be scattered. Regardless, Siddaramaiah announced that he would contest from the Kolar constituency.

There is no consensus among the leaders on his contesting here. There are two groups in the district namely Muniyappa and Rameshkumar.

The party sources have warned that their cold war may spoil Sidhu’s victory.

Realizing this, the Congress leadership is trying to put an end to the factional conflict in Kolar.

Muniyappa has distributed the responsibility to Ramesh Kumar. Different responsibilities have been assigned to the members of both factions. Ramesh Kumar’s supporter Lakshmi Narayana has been given the post of district president and Muniyappa’s supporter Urupagilu Srinivasa has been given the post of acting district president.

The party supremo has sought to merge the two factions by giving them posts. It remains to be seen whether this effort will bear fruit.
