By mutual agreement, the Turkish club and the former Ajax Amsterdam and FC Barcelona player have decided to part ways.

The Adana club Demirspor parted ways on Monday with its Dutch coach Patrick Kluivert, who arrived in July and whose team, although 5th in the Turkish championship, has won only one of its last six matches.

«We part ways by mutual agreement with our coach, Mr. Patrick Kluivert. We would like to thank Mr. Kluivert and his staff for their contribution to our club, and wish him success for the rest of his career», announced the Adana club (southern Turkey) on its X account (formerly Twitter).

The former Dutch international, 47, former football director of Paris SG (2016-2017), took the reins of the Turkish team this summer after having been coach of Curaçao. It was his first experience as a club coach.

The former Ajax Amsterdam and FC Barcelona player has had a good start to the season with Adana, which counts Mario Balotelli, M’Baye Niang, Younès Belhanda and Benjamin Stambouli in its ranks.

But his team suffered a home defeat on Saturday against Samsunspor (3-2). A setback against a poorly ranked team which followed three draws. The club, which has only one victory in its last six meetings, is due to face Galatasaray on Friday.
