Twitter CEO Elon Musk has said that the number of new sign-ups on his social network is increasing at an unprecedented rate. He added that in the last seven days since November 16, more than twenty lakh people have signed up on Twitter every day.
This is a 66 percent increase compared to the same week last year. And the time users spend on the site is increasing at an unprecedented rate, he said. That means the time users spend on the site over the past seven days is nearly 8 billion minutes each day. This is 30 percent more than the same week last year.
Dissenting comments from Twitter have declined significantly in November this year compared to October last year. By buying Twitter, Elon Musk said it would accelerate his long-held dream of building X, the all-in-one app.
Elon Musk says “Twitter 2.0 the everything app” will include features such as encrypted direct messages, long-form tweets and payments. He also said that in the next 12 to 18 months, Twitter will have over a billion monthly users.
