Former senator Gustavo Penadés will change his lawyer to his defense after reaching an agreement with Javier Vega, who until now was carrying out his defense, according to Eduardo Preve on his X account (formerly Twitter).

Penadés was charged this Tuesday with 22 crimes linked to the sexual exploitation of minors, among them 11 crimes of retribution or promise of retribution to minors to carry out sexual or erotic acts and one of rape.
The lawyer was from the first moment in the senator’s defense while Juan Carlos Fernández Lecchini was in charge of defending Sebastián Mauvezín, the other defendant in the case.
The prosecutor in the case, Alicia Ghione, said at a press conference that the former senator’s defense carried out a “procedural fraud.”
“What we have is a procedural scam because the plan that Penadés spoke about from the beginning is a plan that the senator spoke about with public information, with the collaboration of advisors and police officers,” he said.
