For his part, the coordinator de Morena, Ignacio Mierand one of the promoters of the reform, accused the PAN of being against all workers who joined working life 30 years ago.
“They opposed, in recent years, all the constitutional reforms that guaranteed the possibility of reducing inequality. Votaron against the pension for older adults. They voted against all social programs… they have voted against six years of the Budget. Who can believe them now? Which represent? What are they? He asserted that with this reform, workers will have a decent pension, the savings in their Afore will remain at the percentage that was established and the complement will be from the Pension Fund for Wellbeing.
“We represent not lying, not stealing and not betraying. We are proudly construction workers. You will continue to be miserably foxists and Calderonists, and no one is going to take that away from them,” Mier emphasized.
Deputy Xavier González Zirión (PRI) called the federal government “absolutely” irresponsible and liar for daring to say that the Fund will have the profits of the Mexican airline, the Maya Train and the Dos Bocas Refinery.
“They all lose monumental amounts of money. For example, the Mayan Train, if 100% of the tickets were sold at the maximum price level, 11 million pesos a day would be lost, it is your calculation. Four billion pesos of losses a year. Do they want to hang those losses on workers’ pensions?
“Worse still, Dos Bocas and the failed airline. This is theft and a vile deception. This government has also been irresponsible and disastrous economically, all the funds that were available when they arrived ran out, including the Natural Disaster Fund and the Fund for Catastrophic Health Expensesleaving the most vulnerable to their fate,” said González Zirión.
The opposition endorsed its intention to go to the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) to promote an unconstitutionality action; The opinion was sent to the Senate for review and vote.
