Nevēžis did not rise so strongly even during the spring flood. It was difficult for rescuers and officials to even get there, but they found the sheep.

After the reconnaissance, it was established that a herd of sheep – about 15 animals – is standing on the island formed in the territory of the fenced pasture.

The lower part of the pasture around the islet was flooded.

Officers and firefighters searched for the owners of the sheep, but could not find them.

People who were at the scene gave journalists photos of animals drowned in the fields.

Neighbors gave the authorities the phone number of the owners, but no one answered the officers’ calls.

Since it was not possible to contact the owners of the sheep on the given phone number, a decision was made not to take action.

“Market Square” went to the scene at 11 p.m. 30 minutes The fields were drowned in blinding darkness, no animals could be seen even with a searchlight, but the bleating of sheep could be heard in the distance.

On Saturday, “Rinkos aištė” will visit the pasture again and try to talk to the owners of the sheep.

On Saturday morning, Pašiliai was visited by the heads of the municipality and administrative staff, the elder of Pelėdnagii.

It turned out that the 17-hectare plot belongs to a woman living in another Lithuanian city.

The owner of the sheep is aware of the situation. The woman has been keeping sheep here for many years. There are two separate pastures in Pašilii.

So far, all the sheep have successfully moved away from the flood.

By the way, in the evening part of the sheep herd was on one island, and at night they all swam to an island in another place. Now all the sheep of this part of the pasture are huddled together on one island.

Another part of the sheep graze in another pasture, near the road Aukštutiniai Kaniūkai–Babtai–Labūnava–Kėdainiai.

Local residents say that the flood occurs every year and the animals have adapted to it.

The owner usually brought the sheep after the flood had receded.

Specialists will monitor the situation.
