He said these things at the closing ceremony of the 6-day Asia-Pacific Deaf Singles Chess Championship-2024 organized by the Bangladesh Deaf Sports Federation at the capital’s Outer Stadium Olympic Bhawan on Monday (April 29).

Chairman of the Championship Preparation Committee, Mohammad Khairul Bashar, spoke at the event, President of the Deaf Sports Federation. Abdul Karim, Secretary General of Asia Pacific Deaf Sports Federation Enkhair Zanchivnayambu, General Secretary of Deaf Sports Federation Gazi Kamrul Hasan and others.

The Deputy Speaker said in the program that the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has ensured the equal rights of all the citizens of the country through the Constitution. He always thought that no person should be left behind as the owner of the state. The state will reach the peak of development with everyone.

Highlighting the steps taken by the government to develop sports, Shamsul Haque Tuku said that the country is on the highway of development as a result of adopting the balanced development policy of the current government. Deaf sports competitors are achieving success in international tournaments at home and abroad. By increasing sports and cultural activities, apart from removing autism from the international arena, peace will be established around the world and terrorism will be freed.

In the event, the Deputy Speaker presented the trophy to the champion Obaidul Islam Shaheen and runner-up Aminul Islam of the tournament organized with competitors from India, Mongolia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and host Bangladesh. After that certificates were handed over to all the players. Apart from this, 7 distinguished persons were given special awards from the federation.
