Jeddah- Perinthalmanna Cathedral Sports Club General Secretary Farooq Pachiri, Manuppa Kutiri and Abba received at Jeddah Airport to participate in the football tournament being held in Jeddah under the aegis of Pentif Forum. The reception was led by PENTIF workers. Under the auspices of Perinthalmanna NRI Forum (PENTIF), the match will be held at Jeddah Khalid bin Waleed Blasters Stadium on 15th and 16th of this month.
The all-women’s tournament in Jeddah is being held in solidarity with the tournament that has been held in Perinthalmanna since 1961 in memory of Kader and Mohammadali, who were good friends and football players who died prematurely. The tournament is also part of the 51st anniversary celebrations of the Quadraly Sevens Football Tournament. Both Kader and Muhammadali were booted not only in domestic tournaments but also for teams including the Muhammadans. The tournament also has the cooperation of the Cathedrale Sevens Football Tournament Committee, which is leading the tournament which is held in Perinthalmanna every year on a grand scale in their memory.
12 teams will compete in the tournament, including teams from Jeddah and four local teams at home, as well as teams from Albaha and Yambu. With most of the local teams bringing their players from the country, the games are expected to be of a high standard, with a high level of vibrancy and crowd participation. This is the first time in Jeddah that the local teams are changing for a tournament. Four matches will be held on February 15, the first day, and the other matches, including the final, will be held on February 16. The winners will be awarded a trophy and 5000 Riyals and the runner-up will be awarded a trophy and 3000 Riyals.
