Personal loan in Sri Lanka is 11 lakh rupees!

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has released information that personal debt in Sri Lanka has exceeded 11 lakh rupees.

This amount was 7 lakh 93 thousand 888 rupees at the end of last year 2021.

According to the weekly economic index released by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka,

The total debt owed by the central government at the end of August 2022 is estimated at Rs 2469 billion or Rs 24 trillion.

This includes domestic debt of 13,119.4 billion and external debt of 11,574 billion.

The calculation of personal debt burden is calculated by dividing the annual total debt by the average annual population. Accordingly, the personal debt burden in this country is 11 lakh 14,551 rupees.
