SÃO PAULO (Reuters) – Petrobras signed a memorandum of understanding with the Danish company European Energy to evaluate business opportunities involving the development of an e-methanol plant project in Brazil, the oil company said on Thursday in a statement.
E-methanol, used in industrial processes or as fuel, especially in maritime transport, is produced by combining green hydrogen and carbon dioxide of biogenic origin, according to Petrobras.
The non-binding agreement was signed at the Danish company’s headquarters, according to the company.
