The Federal Police arrested one of the biggest drug traffickers in Uruguay in Foz do Iguaçu (PR), this Tuesday (26). The information was released this Wednesday (27) by the corporation. The prisoner is a fugitive from Paraguayan justice, where his preventive arrest for drug trafficking, criminal association and money laundering was ordered in March 2022.
According to the PF, investigations showed that the drug trafficker was in Brazil to attend the birth of his son, whose mother is of Bolivian nationality. The arrest and search and seizure warrants served this Tuesday were issued by the Federal Supreme Court (STF), at the request of the police.
The prisoner was identified in Operation A Ultranza Py, by the Paraguayan police, as a key player in sending narcotics from South America to Europe. He would be part of the criminal group Primer Cartel Uruguayo.
