Pierce Brosnan Arrested for Violating Yellowstone Park Rules: AP

by time news

Pierce Brosnan, known for his iconic role as James Bond, found himself in hot water once again, this time for stepping out of bounds in a thermal area during a recent visit to Yellowstone National Park. According to federal citations issued on Tuesday, Brosnan, 70, walked in an off-limits area at Mammoth Terraces in the northern part of Yellowstone near the Wyoming-Montana line on November 1.

The actor is scheduled for a mandatory court appearance on January 23 in the courtroom of the world’s oldest national park. Yellowstone officials declined to comment on the incident, and Brosnan’s Instagram account, as well as his agent and attorney, did not respond to requests for comment from The Associated Press.

Mammoth Terraces is a scenic spot of mineral-encrusted hot springs bubbling from a hillside, and it is just one of the park’s many thermal features. Yellowstone National Park attracts millions of visitors each year, and going out-of-bounds in the thermal areas can be dangerous, with some visitors suffering serious burns from ignoring warnings not to stray from designated trails.

In addition to potential physical harm, getting caught in restricted areas can result in legal consequences, including jail time, fines, and bans from the park. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for Wyoming confirmed that Brosnan was in the park for a personal visit and not for film work.

Aside from his role as James Bond, Brosnan is also known for his starring roles in the 1980s TV series “Remington Steele” and the films “Mrs. Doubtfire” and “The Thomas Crown Affair.” With his court appearance looming, Brosnan may find that life as a secret agent is not that different from real life after all.
