PlayStation announced a transparent Prismatic Series lineup for the PlayStation 5, introducing see-through faceplates and DualSense wireless controllers in three distinct colors ahead of a February 2027 worldwide release.
Players can secure the transparent accessories starting early next year. Pricing is set across global regions for both the controllers and the console covers.
Isabelle Tomatis, SIE Vice President of Hardware, introduced the new lineup. She is SIE Vice President of PSVR. She is SIE Vice President of Peripherals, and Peripheral Licensing. Tomatis stated, Get ready to see your PS5 console and DualSense controller from a fresh perspective.
Tomatis added: Today, we are thrilled to introduce the Prismatic Series. Today, we are bringing three eye-catching transparent designs for the DualSense wireless controller and PS5 console covers: Flame Orange, Emerald Green, and Graphite Gray.

Pricing and Release Timetable for the Prismatic Series
The new transparent accessories carry distinct price tags for the controllers and the protective covers. The DualSense wireless controller carries a suggested retail price of New Taiwan Dollar 2,720. That translates to 639 Hong Kong dollars. Meanwhile, the PS5 console covers are priced at NT$2,380. That is 563 Hong Kong dollars.
Global distribution begins on February 4, 2027. While controllers will see a worldwide launch, the PS5 console covers will be distributed in limited quantities through designated retailers. Actual availability and local release dates may vary depending on the market and regional distribution channels.
Color Options and Industrial Design Choices
The collection comes in three specific colorways: Flame Orange, Emerald Green, and Graphite Gray. Each option utilizes a high-gloss finish combined with translucent materials to alter how light interacts with the hardware.
Flame Orange provides a vibrant appearance where overlapping transparent layers create subtle rose undertones, according to design team statements. Emerald Green offers a deep, satin-like finish with rich color gradations. Graphite Gray applies a cooler, understated tone suited for a minimalist setup.
Engineering Transparency into Modern Hardware
The hardware project is rooted in an effort to let users examine the internal engineering and assembly of current-generation hardware.
We knew that players have always been very excited about the return of transparent controllers. We wanted to reinterpret the iconic transparent design trend of the late 1990s in a fresh and modern way, while echoing the industrial design of the PS5. Satoshi Aoyagi added,The high-gloss transparent design extends all the way to the back of the controller, allowing players to catch a glimpse of the internal technology that powers the DualSense controller while maintaining a sleek, monochromatic look.
