BNP‘s acting chairman, Tariq Rahman, has claimed that the people of Bangladesh have witnessed newfound freedom in 2024 thanks to the student movement. He emphasized that anyone who attempts to tarnish the reputation of the BNP or create chaos will be held accountable by the law.
Tariq Rahman issued this order in a video message to party leaders on Thursday (August 8).
He clarified that the police are not the enemy, emphasizing that it was Sheikh Hasina, who was elected without a vote, who compelled the police to stand against the people. He alleged that after her escape, a faction within the police is attempting to demoralize the force and create instability.
Rahman further claimed that there is a conspiracy to undermine Bangladesh’s achievements. He stressed the importance of upholding security above all social and political affiliations, urging people to stand together as a united front to ensure the safety of all.
He explicitly warned anyone who attempts to commit wrongdoing in the name of the BNP to be held accountable by the law. He emphasized that no one should take the law into their own hands or impose their own judgments.
Rahman concluded by expressing his belief that a united Bangladesh can build a safe and secure future for its youth. He emphasized that all citizens share one identity – that of Bangladeshis.
