Military police officers from the DOF (Department of Border Operations) seized, on Friday afternoon (29), several pressed volumes of marijuana with a total weight of 181 kilos. In the action, a 27-year-old man was arrested red-handed.
According to the note sent to the press, the military was carrying out a patrol in the urban area of the city, when they received information that on Rua Wilson Gabiatti, Bairro Canaã III, a residence was used as a drug warehouse.
The police officers immediately arrived at the scene and found the man with a quantity of marijuana. When asked about the drugs, he said that he is serving time in a prison unit and that he left for the end of the year, where he was hired to take care of the drugs in the residence, which would be abandoned.
The incident was registered and handed over to Defron (Border Crime Repression Police Station), in Dourados. The estimated loss from the crime was R$361,000.
The action involving DOF police officers took place within the Borders and Borders Protection Program, a partnership between Sejusp (Secretariat of State for Justice and Public Security) with the MJ (Ministry of Justice and Public Security) and Operation Ágata Fronteira Oeste II, in partnership with the Brazilian Army.
