jpnn.com, JAKARTA – The implementation of the 2024 elections is complete. Political expert Arfianto Purbolaksono said that although there were several demonstrations, overall the political dynamics before and after this election did not have much influence on society.

Arfianto Purbolaksono said the atmosphere in the 2024 elections was relatively peaceful. He compared it with the 2014 and 2019 elections where the escalation of conflict was quite heated because there was polarization.

“If you look so far, there have been demonstrations during the national recapitulation period. But it doesn’t seem to be as big as in 2019 and this proves that the public no longer has much influence on the presidential election competition,” said Arfianto, Friday (22/3).

Anto, Arfianto’s nickname, also said that currently the task of the people or society has actually been completed.

The next stage is the struggle of the political elite regarding the lawsuit to the Constitutional Court (MK).

According to the Research and Program Manager of The Indonesian Institute For Public Policy Research (TII), the escalation of conflict is actually increasing at the level of the political elite.

Even though there has been an official determination by the General Election Commission (KPU) regarding the results of the 2024 Election, the elites are trying to “fight” these results, one of which is by filing a lawsuit with the Constitutional Court.

“Currently, there is still a hot atmosphere among the elite, especially in the presidential election contestation. Of the three pairs of candidates, 01 and 03 are trying in such a way as to survive so that the narrative currently being constructed still depicts them as staying within the existing corridor,” said Anto.

The 2024 election will be relatively more peaceful compared to 2014 and 2019, where the escalation of conflict was quite heated due to polarization.
