Madhurandakam: Chengalpattu District, Maduraandakam next to Karunkhuzi Municipality consists of 15 wards. In this, the pond located in the Adivasi Nagar area under the 2nd Ward, Budharmandi, has not been dredged for 50 years. Under the Central Government’s 15th Fund Group grant, the Adivasi Nagar pond has been repaired and deepened. .
The banks of the pond are reinforced with concrete walls. Also, the rainwater inflow and outflow channels have been repaired. Due to this, by raising the ground water level, the nearby irrigation wells will benefit the farmers. The people of the area are thankful to the central and state government for the repair of the pond.
