Pope opposes Putin’s statement of nuclear war | Pope Francis appeals to Putin to end the violence in Ukraine

Vatican: Pope Francis tells Russian President Vladimir Putin to stop violence and killing in the name of war. He condemned Putin’s statement that he would wage a nuclear war.

Pope Francis spoke strongly against the war while addressing the public in St. Peter’s Square.

He called on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi to accept peace proposals with an open mind. He called on the international community to take diplomatic steps to end the war that is sowing tragedy and terror.

He also condemned the annexation of Ukrainian territories to Russia. “I condemn the serious situation that has developed over the past few days in violation of international law. “This increases the nuclear threat and causes serious consequences,” Pope Francis said.
