Poroshenko urged to prevent the return of Ukraine “in the days of Yanukovych”

by time news

Former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, before returning to his homeland, called on the democratic forces of the country to unite in order to protect Ukrainian democracy. According to him, Ukraine cannot be allowed to return to the state of Little Russia.

“We need the unity of the whole world in the face of this attempt to return Ukraine to the time of Yanukovych, to return Ukraine to the state of Little Russia. We must stop, very decisively stop these attempts, giving a response to such attempts to implement such a scenario,” Mr. Poroshenko said at a press conference in Warsaw (quoted by Interfax).

Earlier, the lawyer of the former president, Ilya Novikov, announced a warrant for the arrest of Mr. Poroshenko. He left Ukraine after trying to hand him a summons in the “coal” case. His European Solidarity party calls the trip pre-planned. The ex-president’s lawyer stated that the subpoenas that they tried to hand over to Mr. Poroshenko were written out incorrectly. The court arrested all the property of the former president. On the eve of his return, he also accused Zelensky of wanting to become a dictator.
