Prabowo Administration Uncovers Massive Financial Losses, Vows Crackdown on Corruption

Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto is signaling a zero-tolerance policy toward financial malfeasance, following the initial success of a task force that has already recovered over IDR 6.6 trillion in misappropriated state funds.

President Prabowo Subianto convened a critical meeting with key cabinet members via video conference from London, England, on Monday, January 19, 2026, to discuss ongoing anti-corruption efforts and national asset protection. The meeting included Attorney General ST Burhanuddin and Minister of defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin.

Initial Successes of the PKH Task Force

The PKH (Program Keluarga Harapan) Task Force, established in January 2025, has recovered IDR 6.6 trillion, a important step in addressing systemic corruption. Officials believe this is only a fraction of total losses, potentially reaching “hundreds of trillions” if fully investigated.

Forest Protection-The new task force will target illegal logging and mismanagement of Indonesia’s forests.

Recovered Funds-IDR 6.6 trillion has been recovered through the PKH Task Force sence January 2025.
