The development of one of the most unique playgrounds in Dunakeszi will soon be completed at the intersection of Kazinczy-Tompa Mihály utca. The playground will receive several new developments, we asked the mastermind, deputy mayor Márton Nyíri, about it.
Serious work has been going on at the playground for days. What’s going on?
A special astronaut climbing castle and skills course. Mayor Csaba Dióssi and I have long cherished the dream of realizing something truly original and special. The Kazinczy playground has always been very popular among families living in the area. The people who live here love him and take care of him. We thought that the development could fit many playgrounds in Dunakeszi, so this playground, among others, took place. I see that we didn’t shoot next to it, because no matter how many times I go there, there are always curious children’s eyes watching the construction. “When will it be ready?” – this is the most common question. I’ll tell you this too: expected by the end of March, beginning of April.
How was this particular game chosen?
It’s no secret, I really liked it, I’ve never seen it anywhere. At the same time, we thought that the users, that is, the population, should decide, so we conducted a kind of opinion poll. We also offered a traditional play castle, but in the end the vote brought the victory of the astronaut game with a confident majority. Now that it’s well under construction, we’re even more sure that those who backed this game made the right decision: it’s much more impressive than in the catalog images, and the skill course is much more complex than what we saw in the promotional photos. From a very young age to older children, they will surely find joy in it. When developing the area, we also kept in mind that all age groups would find the joy of exercise. The adjacent fitness park has also been designed so that both the younger and the senior age group can use it happily and safely.
What other developments can be expected in the area?
In the same place, that is, on the playground, we will soon improve the public lighting, this was a request of many mothers. Especially in the summer – but even in autumn, when it gets dark around four o’clock – the children want to continue playing. We will solve this with a timer-switch solution, because of course you also have to pay attention to the fact that the lighting does not disturb the peace of the people living in the area in the evening. I will also tell you that in addition to the spaceman game, we are also preparing a small surprise.
One street away, on Vajda János utca, a pavement renovation will soon begin. We will demolish the old, fragmented, essentially unusable sidewalk and build a wider, paved, safe sidewalk where you can also use strollers.
In Dunakeszin, with the arrival of spring, in addition to the construction of the new playground being built in Kazinczy Street, the renovation of nine of the existing ones began.
