About a month ago, I told here that the crowdfunding project for the “Neighborhood Cinemas of Haifa” album was getting underway. This is a color album of all 35 neighborhood cinemas that operated in Haifa. The album (over 250 pages in A4 format) is based on the investigations published in “Hai Fe” last year, and contains texts, photographs, maps, documents, and of course, the spectacular illustrations of Dr. David Bar On, which are currently receiving their own exhibition at Beit Abba Khushi , which will open next Tuesday.
This album is a documentation project, all of which is a tribute to the city of Haifa
It is not easy to enlist for such a task after the hard upheaval we all went through. I see a small victory in that, despite what we are going through these days, we continue to deal with the small details that make up our daily lives, especially when it comes to the history we share here.
In the last month we got very close to the goal. Your support is needed now to reach him and complete the task of commemorating a piece of Haifa history that is close to our hearts, and which has not been properly documented until now.
