Presidential election – The BJP has handed over the responsibility of forming a consensus to Natta and Rajnath Singh

President Ramnath Govind’s term ends on the 24th of next month. Earlier, the Election Commission announced that the election to elect a new president would take place on July 18.

Candidates for the presidency can file nominations from June 15 to June 29. Voting will take place on July 18 and counting will take place on July 21.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has been involved in an attempt to field a common candidate on behalf of the opposition. Congress leader Sonia Gandhi has appointed Mallikarjun Kharge to negotiate with the allied parties on behalf of the Congress party in this election.

In this context, the BJP plans to field a candidate in the presidential election on the basis of consensus with the coalition parties and the opposition.

The BJP has handed over the responsibility of negotiating with the parties in the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance, the United Progressive Alliance and non-aligned parties to form a consensus with National Leader JP Natta and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, the BJP said in a statement.
