Pretoria Capitals beat Sunrisers Eastern Cape by 23 runs as part of the SA 20 League series. Batting first, Pretoria scored 193/6 and Sunrisers Easton Cape scored 170/5 in second.
East Cape bowled after winning the toss in Thursday night’s match at Jebarha. The Pretoria team who came out to bat accumulated 193/6 runs in 20 overs.
Philip Salt Action 77: Opening bat Philip Salt played action and remained unbeaten with 77 runs off 47 balls with 11 fours. Jimmy Neesham scored 37 runs and Parnell scored 29 runs while the other players got out with few runs. Bartman took 2-45 and Markram 2-17 for the Eastern Cape side.
Sunrises Easton Cape Stuttering:
Setting a tough target of 194 runs, Sunrisers Easton struggled from the start. JJ Smuts scored 66 (4 sixes, 4 fours), Tom Appel scored 40 runs and James Bull scored 27 runs.
Anrih Norgia took 2 wickets for Pretoria. In the end Pretoria team registered their first win by 23 runs.
