Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed all concerned especially the field level administration to ensure that the building code is maintained in the construction of buildings across the country. At the same time, he ordered to be strict against any kind of food hoarding and adulteration in view of Ramadan.

The Prime Minister gave this order while inaugurating the four-day annual conference of District Administrators (DC) at the Shapla Hall of his office (PMO) on Sunday.

The Prime Minister said that everyone should pay attention to ensure that the building code is followed in the construction of the establishment. Not only where there is a city corporation, but everywhere universally this should be accepted. Fire fighting system, adequate light and air supply system, rain water storage system should be built keeping them.

The Prime Minister thanked the Dhaka district administration for rushing to the accident site on the recent fire-damaged Bailey Road and standing by the people.

He instructed the field administration to take effective measures to ensure that the three-crop arable land cannot be used for any other purpose including houses or industries. He said, “We have to protect the crop land.”

The Prime Minister said that the government is developing the country, besides ensuring the rights of the people of the country. He said the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic and the Ukraine-Russia war on the world economy. There are countries in the world now where inflation has risen to 40%. The Prime Minister said that the month of Ramadan is coming. At this time, some businessmen want to steal profits by increasing the price of products by hoarding all the time. We have to pay attention to that, because it is our urgent task.

He said that consumers should not be subjected to any kind of harassment anywhere. We need to increase domestic production. Dependency must be reduced, and we have proven in many cases that we can do it. It is absolutely necessary to pay attention to it.

Sheikh Hasina said, another issue is supply. Problems are created with that too or attempts are made to create an artificial crisis. Some hoard. The product will rot, but will not leave the market. Strict legal measures need to be taken with a special focus on that.

He said, I said these words before the month of Ramadan. Ensuring that essential products reach the common people properly. That’s why everyone should pay attention.
