If you want to print photos from your smartphone or tablet, you only need a printer. With these instructions the rest is very easy.

Thanks to modern camera phones, the pictures taken with them are also suitable for hanging on the photo wall at home due to their high quality. What else do you need? A printer. And these instructions for printing images using Android smartphones and iPhones.

While Apple has already integrated a printing function with Airprint into its mobile operating system, Android users have to download a printer app from the Google Play Store. There you should find an app from the manufacturer that your printer comes from. These are usually manufacturers like Brother, HP or Epson. You should install the app on your Android smartphone.

A note for users who want to connect their cell phone to a printer via cable: This option is available, but it is not possible without additional cables and programs. That is why we do not provide such instructions here. This article is only about easy printing via a wireless connection between printer and cell phone.

Print on Android. That’s how it’s done:

The cell phone and printer should be on the same network. Then you can connect your printer directly to your cell phone via WiFi. Some devices also offer an NFC function. Then all you have to do is hold the smartphone near the printer.

1. Open the image in your photography app, such as Google Photos.
2. Depending on the file type, tap the three-dot icon at the top right of the screen or the share icon at the bottom center.
3. Now select a printer and tap “Print”.
   Alternatively, you can also tap “Print” directly.
4. Complete.

Printing on iOS. That’s how it’s done:

Even on iOS, the printer and the iPhone should be on the same network. Then you can connect your printer directly to your cell phone via WiFi. Some devices also offer an NFC function. Then all you have to do is hold the smartphone near the printer.

1. Open the app you want to print from, such as Apple Photos.
2. Now tap on the image you want to print.
3. Tap the share button.
4. Scroll down and tap the Print button or “Print.”
5. Select a printer.
6. Enter the number of copies or paper size and tap Print.
7. Complete.
