Chennai: Tamil Nadu Transport Minister Sivashankar has ordered that the license of government buses to stop at Wales Restaurant is canceled based on the fact that Wales Restaurant on both sides of the roads near Vikrawandi was found to be serving unhygienic food and snacks at extra cost to the passengers.

In this regard, the Government has issued a press release: Based on the complaint received by the Transport Minister S.C.Sivasankar regarding the recent sale of substandard food and snacks at extra cost at the roadside restaurants and shops where State Transport Corporation buses stop and unhygienic maintenance of toilets, the operation of roadside restaurants has been ordered by the Minister. For the last two days, a thorough inspection was carried out by the top officials of the Transport Corporation.

On January 19, when top officials of the Transport Corporation were carrying out a deeder inspection, it was found that Wales Restaurant on both sides of the roads near Vikravandi was serving unhygienic food and snacks at extra cost to passengers. Based on this, the license of government buses to ply at Wales Restaurant is revoked.

Following this, it is informed that in the future, other approved roadside restaurants will also be inspected and if any deficiencies are found, action will be taken accordingly.
