Project to build an access and expand the canopies at El Vendrell` station
Renfe will build a new access hall and extend the canopies to the El Vendrell station, on the R4 and RT2 commuter lines, in Tarragona. The work has a budget of 1,659,434.19 euros and a completion period of seven months.

This action is part of the “Transformem Rodalies” plan and its objective is to improve the flow of entry and exit of passengers at this station. In addition, the extension of the canopies is included, forty meters in the direction of Martorell, to guarantee passenger protection along the entire platform and, at the same time, create a connection between the new aedicula and the entrances to the underpass that are located at opposite ends.
The main works planned will consist of the execution of the new access aedicule, on one floor, with access control shifts and new electrical installations, traveler information systems and closed circuit television, among others. Another of the planned works associated with the canopies will be the adaptation of all the associated facilities and their sanitation together with the adaptation of the exterior urbanization. The improvement of the El Vendrell station will benefit 2,300 passengers.
