A competition for recruiting projects for financing up to BGN 90,000 for the employment of people with permanent disabilities to stimulate their employment in a specialized work environment is starting. This was announced by the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy (MLSP).
The competition is in two directions – for projects with a social orientation and for specialized projects with an economic orientation. The projects will be funded by the Agency for People with Disabilities.
Funds for socially oriented projects can be used to create safe and healthy working conditions, as well as providing access to workplaces and other enterprises, the Ministry of Social Affairs states. Activities to increase the professional qualification of the employees, as well as for certification and introduction of standardized management systems, will also be financed. The application deadline for this type of project proposal is until April 29 this year.
The financing of specialized business-oriented enterprises aims to increase the competitiveness of employers through technological renewal, re-equipment of existing ones and opening of new jobs for people with disabilities. Funds will also be allocated for the financial stabilization of these enterprises. The deadline for submitting project proposals is May 20, 2024.
The maximum amount of subsidy for specialized enterprises is up to BGN 90,000, and for social projects – up to BGN 50,000.
The methodology for financing project proposals under the National Program for Employment of People with Disabilities, as well as the tender documentation, are published on the website of the Agency for People with Disabilities.
The Agency for People with Disabilities grants funds of up to BGN 30,000 for people with permanent disabilities and for starting and developing an independent business activity.
On March 15, the Agency for People with Disabilities launched the 2024 campaign to call for project proposals for rehabilitation, integration and provision of an accessible architectural environment for people with disabilities. Projects will be accepted until April 19 this year. According to them, up to BGN 16,000 will be used to finance training for people with disabilities, activities to acquire skills for independent living, rehabilitation, art therapy, visits to cultural events.
