The semi-final of the U19 championship between the sworn enemies of Olympique de Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain should take place in a peaceful atmosphere on Sunday (4 p.m.). Because unlike the Parisian ultras, who announced their coming to Orleans since Wednesday, the Marseillais should not make the trip. No group departure is in any case planned, as confirmed to us by the director of cabinet of the prefecture of Loiret Franck Boulanjon. Only a few individual supporters could therefore come to support the Marseille kids, the official groups being concentrated on the celebrations planned this weekend for the 30th anniversary of Marseille’s victory in the Champions League.
The prefecture still took precautions to avoid any overflow when nearly 600 Parisian ultras were expected to make the trip. A stand, the “Orléans” stand, will be entirely dedicated to Parisian supporters’ groups, while the few Marseille supporters will be placed in the opposite stand. “It’s Paris Saint-Germain who will buy the tickets and resell them to their supporters, who will be brought directly to their stands at the exit of the bus,” explains Franck Boulanjon.
A prefectural decree was also issued to prohibit access to the stadium, its surroundings and the city center of Orléans to Parisian supporters likely to have violent behavior and who would not have passed through the PSG ticket office. This is primarily aimed at members of disbanded capital club organizations. “We took this order to have a legal basis to apprehend them in the event that they behave violently”, specifies the director of cabinet.
3000 spectators expected
On May 13, during the final of the Women’s French Cup between Olympique Lyonnais and Paris Saint-Germain in the same Source d’Orléans stadium, five people were arrested and placed in police custody for not – compliance with this decree. It was therefore reproduced for this semi-final of the under-19 championship. A police system, based on the assessment carried out by the national division for the fight against hooliganism, is also planned and will be higher than normal.
In total, the authorities expect nearly 3,000 people to attend this poster. The stadium can accommodate 7,000. The arrival of nearly 600 members of Parisian supporters’ collectives has been announced, while no figure can be advanced on the Marseille side given the absence of a group start.
