As Milan prepares to co-host the 2026 Winter Olympic Games alongside Cortina d’Ampezzo, AC Milan, one of Italy’s most celebrated sporting institutions, has launched a unique welcome initiative. The club has enlisted a roster of current and former players to create a social media video offering a glimpse into the city’s culture and charm for Olympic attendees.
A Rossoneri Welcome to Lombardy
The campaign aims to showcase Milan beyond the sporting arena, offering a taste of the local lifestyle to the thousands of winter sports fans expected to arrive in the region. According to a club release, the initiative is designed to extend a heartfelt “Benvenuti” – welcome – to all those participating in and attending the Games.
The video features a diverse group of players, including soccer legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric, and U.S. Men’s National Team star Christian Pulisic. Each player contributes a unique segment to the mini-guide.
From Coffee Etiquette to Artistic Impressions
The video opens with Ibrahimovic enthusiastically praising Milan, setting a celebratory tone. Pulisic then provides a lighthearted lesson in Milanese coffee etiquette, emphasizing a crucial rule for visitors: “no – we repeat NO – cappuccino after 11 a.m.”
The campaign also incorporates playful scenarios. Modric is depicted capturing the iconic San Siro stadium in oil paints, a nod to the stadium’s impending redevelopment, while Adrien Rabiot is shown indulging in a bespoke suit fitting. Soo-Jeong Park, representing AC Milan’s women’s team, highlights the architectural beauty of the Duomo cathedral, a landmark of gothic splendor. Ibrahimovic returns to deliver a warm closing message: “Benvenuti a casa nostra” – Welcome to our home.
