From the 22 participants of the training camp, the coaches gave 22 at least half an hour to prove themselves in one of the two test matches against Cyprus and Liechtenstein, but both matches were played from the first to the last minute only by Andrejs Ciganiks. Captain Krister Tober, midfielders Renars Varslavans and Maksim Tonishev, as well as goalkeeper Robert Ozol, are out on the field due to health problems. “These games were a great opportunity to evaluate the players,” Nicolato explained of the big change in the squad.
